The Philosophy of RPBC Academy is that mankind and the universe are dynamically related to God, who is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. We believe that God created all things, sustains all things and is in ultimate control of all things and that mankind, God’s greatest creation, is intended to know and bring glory to God. Because man inherited a sin nature from the first man, Adam, he can only know God and thus bring glory to Him by choosing God’s free gift of salvation through His son, Jesus Christ. God is further glorified when one who has chosen salvation through Jesus Christ is obedient to His commands.

This philosophy helps us remain focused in promoting high academic standards while helping the students achieve skills in creative and critical thinking using the best integrated curriculum available. Research shows, and the Bible teaches, that a child’s brain begins development prior to birth. We also know that at the infant stage the child is developing a sense of trust and an awareness of vocabulary. Based on this knowledge, we consider every child a student, regardless of age, and therefore actively provide each student the appropriate learning experiences.

Because we believe that God chooses to be involved in all the activities of man, we attempt to incorporate the Bible in our teaching of all subjects as God’s revelation to man with application to every area of life: intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual. The teaching material and the type of activities employed by the school support our philosophy that God is interested and involved in all areas of life.

Students begin developing their worldview during elementary years. As they progress through middle school and beyond, they must be prepared to defend their worldview. We intentionally teach from a Biblical worldview. We believe that everything that has happened, that is happening and that will happen in the world should be viewed and understood through the Holy Scriptures. As students grow, their beliefs will be questioned. They must be prepared to defend their beliefs and when they question their own beliefs and thoughts, they must have the tools to search for the TRUTH – God’s TRUTH.

We understand that the parents are ultimately responsible for the education of their children, and that the school functions as an agent for the parents. We therefore assume that parents and teachers will cooperate closely in every phase of the student’s education. As both parties cooperate with each we believe we can greatly enhance the Christian education experience.
